New Project

Well, I've spent some time thinking about what to do next, and about FINEG. This morning when I logged in I found this evemail:
2008.08.25 17:19
As you have noticed we have been keeping an eye on former strife members,
We once again offer you a way for us to forget about you.

Package A - 500 Mil

I will remove you and your alts from my addressbook and we will never bother you again.

Package B - 600 mil

I will remove you and your alts from my addressbook and we will never bother you again.

I will also instruct our pos expert to give you vital pos defense tips.

Package C - 1 Bil

Same deal as before this will include all former strife members.

-Lemage
One thing I have to give FINEG, they keep the smack down. Straight forward, to the point, and they back it up. Although this line here: "I will also instruct our pos expert to give you vital pos defense tips", that stings. I mean, Ouch. LOL

I tried to think of some witty or defiant reply but really it would sound like the rantings of a pissed off player and I know I have very little in the way of ability to back it up right now. My PvP skills (especially solo) are nothing special and I don't have the allies to call in for a protracted campaign.

So I'm going to play to my strengths. I'm good at research and information gathering so I've decided that in lieu of production at my POS, my new project will be to find out everything there is to know about FINEG and its pilots. Where they go, what they fly, and what they do when they get there.

Then we'll see what I can do.

Of course I'll post it all here starting with the current location of Lemage: Faspera I - Ammatar Fleet Testing Facilities station in the Faspera system, Ananah constellation of Derelik region.

Just to help you out on the intelligence gathering front, here is their killboard.

Be sure and add all their guys to your address book.

Here is your problem, if you look under the most dangerous systems section, it looks like they reside in null sec, or possibly a low sec system bordering nullsec.

This means your most likely option is to engage the services of a true contract merc corp/alliance. If you need some names of these types of corps, leave a message and I'll contact you in game tonight or send you an evemail if you are not online at the same time I am.

It won't be cheap, but it will be dramatically lower than their ransom request, and you'll get the joy of some griefer tears. This game is all economics, you just have to make it more painful for them isk wise then they could ever do to you.

  3. Chuckle.. I have a feeling they may find they have picked the wrong target to harass.

Though agreed you have to respect their forthrightness...

This guy is entirely on point. Also keep in mind, however, further instigating enemies (or potential enemies) will pretty much eliminate any possibility of pursuing another POS project by yourself.

Not that you will be safe if you do meet their demands, it is just something to think about. I doubt you really set out to start a war when you woke up this morning (it's always an option though).

  5. I spent the last two months not instigating them and that obviously did not work.

I'd rather take the fight to them despite the odds against me than run anymore and hope someday they'll lose interest.

I'd rather lose 500 million in ships in combat than pay them a red cent.
