Thunder and I got together with two friends to let them try Legions Imperialis. First time with my table completely painted (and the armies too).
The Dark Mechanicum of Pyros Majora
The Solar Auxilia of Unknown Origins
The completely painted board! Huzzah! Simple mission of try to take the objectives.
The teammate I was advising is Steve.
While Thunder advised Shwafia.
On one flank the Warhound Titan and the Leman Russ Vanquishers led the charge.
On the other the Baneblades and SA Command would try to hold the line against the Serperos and Acastus Astrerius Knight, Ser Castor.
Let's rumble!
The Arch Magos and his Myrmidon Secutors secured a middle objective while theWarhound tried to destroy the bulding with his melta but failed.
The Charonites were air dropped and garrisoned a building to threaten the Scintilax brain bots and blunt the charge of the Errax stalkers.
Two more air transports arrive at the East middle point and drop off Terchio that garrison the large administrative building, while the Draconson and transports move up.
The Serperos detachment advances while shooting, while Ser Castor conversion beams a baneblade into an explosion. The tech thralls sercue a building on the home East objective.
The Krios Battletanks are targeted by the Leman Russes and other Warhound missles. The lose three and break and withdraw from the table.
The other Baneblade secures a road.
Ursurax assault troops advancing up the far east get bombard by two detachments of Basilisks but take only minor casualities.
On turn 2, an Errax charges into Terchios in ruins. A pitched battle ensues.
The Ursurax charge a Basilisk position and wipe them out.
Meanwhile, on the far west the Harpax swarm the Sentinels and chop them up.
The Scintilax advance to secure the middle West obejctive, and survive the Dracoson's fire to overwatch the Charonites as they charge.
On the East, Ser Castor targets the admin building and brings it down with its powerful Conversion beamers, killing all the Auxilia inside!
The Serperos advance on the now vacant point and rain fire on the advancing empty transports.
With the night getting late, we decided to call it a draw. The Loyalists had a victory point lead but the Traitors felt like the had some momentum to turn the tide.
Great fun! Hope our newbies get the itch to try again.
