BB68 - Its Not Much, But Its Mine

Blog Banter 68: This is My Rig
This is my Rig, There are Many Like it...
What do you play Eve on? I'll show you mine if you show me yours! Are you pew-pewing on a laptop? Plotting universal domination on a 12 monitor set up? Mining away on a 50" TV? Is your set up located where your other half can speak to you or do you lock yourself away for hours in your Eve themed shed? How do you play your important internet spaceships?
I don't have the fanciest setup in the world, single income family with three growing boys, but it gets me by.

First off I run on two monitors, a 25" main which runs at 1920x1080 resolution and  a 17" whose resolution I don't care enough about to remember. I use the second monitor for voice comms, dotLAN maps, and Aideron slack channels when I'm playing.

My PC is an old 2010 build from a local parts store that went under a few years back. Its processor is an "Intel Pentium G6950" at 2.8 GHz with 4 GB RAM. I tried to upgrade the RAM to 8 GB but the motherboard couldn't handle it. Back in 2010 it was top of the line almost for my price budget and it shows its age now with newer games, but still runs EVE and World of Warships decently enough.

Jek 14's Stealth Fighter and a Sith Infiltrator on top of it for good luck.

My keyboard is a Logitech G19 with back lit keys and lots of programmable options. I primarily use the G keys for drone commands and broadcasting for reps. I do love the nice volume scroll knob though.

I use Sony Wireless headphones when playing EVE. They are comfy enough but very warm.

My mouse is a Logitech wireless trackball (with the regular cheapie mouse for kids in red). I love thumb trackball mice and use them at home and work.

Finally, my microphone is a Blue Snowball with webcam camera (hidden inside mic shell right now) which I use for both voice comms and recording podcasts.

I'm saving up to upgrade my machine, hopefully next year.

Well done good sir. I really like the idea of showing my eve station to others but first I must remove 5 empty glasses, coke cans and food wrappers. Just looking at it, I mean looking at the hole thing and not just the screen is saddening. How much cleaning did you have to do before taking these nice photos? I think I'm going to need a bigger trash can.

    1. This is the one place in the house that is undoubtedly mine so I keep it fairly clear of clutter.
