Wraithbone

Out of all the improvements in my painting style for Eldar, one of the simplest things that makes the most difference has been my new approach to doing wraithbone. In the past all I would do is paint the target ivory and call it a day. No longer! Now I base in ivory, cover it in a really watered down beastial brown, and then highlight with ivory over top. It gives a nice effect of being more organic and bringing out details. Last night I applied the technique to the wave serpent.

Here's a close up of the before and after:

Quite the difference, eh?

Next step is to tidy up the black and red, then begin the highlighting in the dark blue and blazing orange.
