To Top It All Off

What a month February has been!

A family member dying (expected) and another family member requiring triple bypass heart surgery (unexpected) and the accompanying funerals and hospital visits and multiple hours of driving over weekends in a row... and I was pretty wiped out this past Monday.

So when I logged in to start manufacturing jobs in my Raitaru I was not altogether shocked to see life deal another unexpected blow to my sanity. My alt corp had been war dec'd.

I tried some negotiation first as I saw the small 4 man corp's CEO was once a member of a Gallente Militia corporation but to no avail. According to him they had been contracted to remove my Engineering complex from the high sec system but for the low price of 600 million they could be convinced to leave it alone.

Yeah, I'm not new here. Either he runs a terrible mercenary corp that does not follow through on contracts, or he's running a shake down. Either way, I politely declined and turned to my alliance for advice as the report of my structure being put into armour was received the next day.

They did not disappoint.

Immediately they told me to open the war declaration to allies and FEDUP joined. The next day even though the reinforcement timer ended at 4pm in the afternoon my time, the call was put out and for pilots to help defend and when the time came a fleet of 12+ pilots answered the call, as well as myself with Kirith in the gunner's seat (since he could not be in a spaceship without attracting the police) and my alt Korneilia in a Hurricane.

A single war target showed up in local as the clock ticked down, and promptly left without a word. The 15 minute repair timer completed successfully and for now, the Raitaru is safe.
Huge shout out to FEDUP's Euro pilots who turned out in a big way for me, I super appreciate it.

Year 11

When I wasn't paying attention earlier this month, my 11th EVE birthday came and went. Of that decade plus one time frame, I've been in Aideron Robotics for over 4.5 years.

Wow. Time flies when you're having fun.

In other news, Federation Uprising got its alliance icon approved and put into game.

Nice.

Finding an Alliance Identity

After the dust settled from Aideron Robotics forming a new alliance called Federation Uprising with some other Gal Mil corporations, the thoughts started to turn to the outward facing identity of the alliance. The primary spot to start is the alliance logo that you can submit (after alliance is active in game for over 6 months) to CCP for inclusion in the actual game itself (unlike corporation logos that are created using an ingame system of combining multiple overlaid icons in various colours).

I got the ball rolling with an idea that rattled in my head:

Then other more talented people stepped up. An early front runner was this icon:

Other contenders started to appear:

And then this one which I fell in love with:
It seemed like it had the popular vote but then a new entry appeared that took everyone's (except mine) heart:

We had a vote over the top three and the last one above was the winner. All in all it was a fascinating showcase of graphic talent. Good work guys!

Pacifying Placid

Over the past week and a bit our newly formed alliance Federation Uprising [FEDUP] has been conducting operations in Placid region, part of the South of the warzone along with Essence region (the North being Black Rise and Lonetrek).
The main Caldari opposition in the area comes from fairly new Black Shark Cult corporation, a decent sized group based around giving new players an introduction into faction warfare from the Caldari side. Unfortunately for them, they are smaller than Aideron Robotics alone, much less the combined efforts of AIDER, XMETA, JREX, and CRYRS.

The result of our attention has been a string of system flips all throughout Placid:
This is not too big a blow to the Sharks, however, as they base out of high sec right now and the fights they have been getting have been great for their morale. Plus, now they have a slew of offensive plexing systems nearby giving more Loyalty points than defensive plexing.

For now we have the upper hand and the campaign has been good at cementing the alliance and starting off on the right foot.

New Era for Aideron Robotics

As part of the development of Fortress Fliet, my corporation of the last four years Aideron Robotics has been working more closely with other Gallente Militia groups that invested in the system in light of the winter assault by the Caldari Militia led by Scylus Black and his band of fiends (vote Scylus Black for CSM 2017).

One group in particular, Mecha Enterprises Fleet corporation (ticker: XMETA), a long time militia partner turned out to work extremely well with us and relations developed beyond the previous cooperation. Thus it was decided to officially recognize our stronger relationship by forming a new alliance.

Introducing Federation Uprising (ticker: FEDUP):

This represents a new era for Aideron Robotics and I look forward to the challenges and rewards of working more closely with our new allies.
