Once more the Dark Mechanicum of Forge World Pyros Majora venture forth to spread the good word of Warmaster Horus, and trying to stop them is the foolish Imperials of the Solar Auxilia with a formation of Imperial Fist allies.

The board had 5 objectives. One in each triangle deployment zone (see Point Assault Mission) and three across the middle with the centre being the most points to control.
The Errax led Purge formation concentrated on the centre and right flank.
The Imperial Fist Dreadnoughts went right for the centre as They Shall Know No Fear.
Malcadors in the back right, while the Sicarans reinforce the centre.
The left flank sees lots of imperials, Sentinels, Leman Russes, and mole mortars.
While in the centre, the Ogryns and some quad launchers.
Orders revealed!
In the centre, the Ursurax and Errax formations charged in immediately, catching the Imperials off guard with their massive fast charge ranges.
The Harpaxes even charged the Sicaran tanks.
The cyclops remote detonation shake the battlefield but are more sound than fury.
The towering Serperos stalkers of the Purge Formation use the marker lights of the Tenebraxes to light up the exposed Sentinels.
A tech priest auxilia leads some tech thralls on the left flank.
Open fire!
On the right the Scintilax HQ of the Terror formation claims an objective.
The elite Storm Section prepares the charge as the Malcadors soften the targets.
The Thallax detachment garrisons a building made of Formcrete while the construct shield of the Scintilax flares bright before burning out.
The Dreadnoughts who were swarmed by the Ursurax assault troops and a fiendish Errax Butcher Stalker are whittled down to one, but they stand strong and do not run.
The Sicarans on the other hand are overwhelmed by tentacles.
While the Ogryns and Sentinels fall before them, the Lasrifle Tericos hold the line.
The combined fire of the Myrmidon Destructors, Serperos Overlords, and Tenebrax Archers clear the left flank. But the advancing Tech Thralls and Myrmidon Secutors are eliminated leaving olny the tech priest and Arch Magos standing.
The Ogryns charge the Errax while the Arch Magos charges the dreadnought.
The Storm Section charges and kills some Tech Thralls on the right, while the Thallax move on the objective.
The tactical marine detachment moves on the left objective and the Purge Protocal stalkers advance to challenge.
The Harpax charge and wipe out the Leman Russes while going to half strength, while the Ursruaxes charge and eliminate a tactical detachment, breaking a hole in the centre of the Loyalist line.
The dreadnought falls to the power axe of the Arch Magos, giving control of the centre objective to the traitors once more.
The Storm Section, having killed everyone they were in base to base contact with, get targeted by the weapons of the Thallax infantry and are cut down.
The surviving Tech Priest charges the lasrifle Terico and kills one stand, but is shot down in return.
At this point, having controlled the centre of the board for two turns, the Dark Mechanicum had created a nearly insurmountable lead over the Imperials, and we called it there. Good game, lots learned!
