I finished the main colours on the weapons of the Dark Reapers last night and got a coat of grey on the cables and helms. Didn't get much more done painting-wise due to the two hour finale of the Amazing Race. 
However, I was able to get some gluing and drilling done and completed assembly of my drop pod! All five doors open and close:
